About Lissy Peace
As President of Blanco & Peace, Lissy runs the national
public relations company based in Chicago and represents clients
throughout the world. A seasoned public relations, promotion
and marketing executive with two decades of diversified experience,
Ms. Peace has spearheaded and coordinated promotion and publicity
campaigns for a vast spectrum of projects including, entertainment
venues and productions, manufacturers and retail entities,
creative properties, global events, high profile restaurants,
chefs and cookbooks, authors, entrepreneurs and producers,
and world recognized personalities among many others.
As the company has developed a powerful niche in the book
publishing industry, Lissy has spearheaded numerous campaigns
and tours developing innovative marketing strategies to add
to the success of each project. From a local author campaign
to a nationwide multi-city tour, Lissy has successfully orchestrated
and manages one of the most impactful components for marketing
a book. She has continually put books on the New York Times
bestseller list in addition to the many other lists of accomplishment.
One recent book campaign she lead was taken to the QVC network.
On the first showing, the author sold 2,000 books after appearing
on air for 8 minutes in the wee-early morning hours. This
author has gone on to appear several times and has sold thousands
of books. Lissy continues to work with QVC on several books
and other projects as well.
She coordinated the campaign for legendary writer, author,
reverend and activist William Sloane Coffin. His book "Credo"
was featured in the Washington Post, the New Yorker, the Boston
Globe, and the New York Times, along with a one-hour special
by Bill Moyers on the PBS network nationwide. The book was
nominated for a Christopher Award.
She publicized the launch of the new Nancy Drew graphic novel
series which hit the front page of the USA Today, and was
featured in New York Times magazine, Chicago Sun Times, and
the San Francisco Chronicle among many others.
Lissy has toured with Lake Wobegone's Garrison Keillor, working
to promote his live performances and book, "The Book
of Guys." His shows were sell-outs and his book hit the
New York Times best-seller list after a half-page story in
USA Today ran (which Lissy coordinated) and remained on the
list for weeks.
She has collaborated on publicity campaigns with such formidable
entertainment entities as Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers,
20th Century Fox, New Line, Tribune Entertainment, Landmark
Entertainment Group, All American Television, Universal Studios
and Trimark. Her alliance with 20th Century Fox has with stood
the test of time in which she has overseen numerous different
projects around the country for this huge media conglomerate.
Representing one of the top visual effects houses based in
Los Angeles, Lissy has publicized the visual and digital effects
work on such films on numerous films. Blanco & Peace worked
directly with Universal Studios, Jersey Films, and Comic Relief
executive director Bob Zmuda on the Milos Forman directed
Andy Kaufman biopic, MAN ON THE MOON.
Among the many television projects, Lissy has worked on every
genre of television programming in syndication, cable or network
over the years, from talk to game show, mini-series to action
adventure, children's to erotic thrillers, cooking to political
debates. She has launched the merchandising and licensing
campaign of an animated children's television series which
met with enormous success one year before the actual premiere
of the series. The licensing campaign was featured in USA
Today on several occasions in the Life section over the course
of the television shows broadcast run.
History
As Blanco & Peace grows and diversifies, so has Lissy's
list of accomplishments including campaigns for a leading jeweler,
commercial airline, health club, apparel manufacturer, transportation
service, fine art series, and architectural design firm. Ms.
Peace has also worked on a plethora of projects including retail
stores, casting calls, amusement parks, musical releases, celebrity
speaking engagements and tours, among many others.
Her passion for food and wine has lead her to numerous gourmet,
themed and family friendly restaurants where she has orchestrated
openings and on-going publicity efforts throughout the country.
She has worked on restaurant projects with large public companies
such as P.F. Chang's, Famous Dave's and Hard Rock Cafe, smaller
family owned operations such as Sweets & Savories, Barcello's
and quick service favorites such as Al's Beef, Home Run Inn,
and Portillo's. She spearheaded the grand opening celebrations
and publicity for the globally successful RAINFOREST CAFE.
Working with creator Steven Schussler, Lissy came on board
shortly after its flagship launch at the Mall of America.
She has also represented four television cooking series on
various networks with one receiving the James Beard Award
for Best Cooking Program in the United States. She frequently
coaches chefs and restaurant executives on the skills needed
to perfect an on-air interview, personal appearance and/or
demonstration. Lissy has consulted and represented numerous
chefs and cooks on their cookbook endeavors with extraordinary
success.
Lissy started working in the entertainment arena at WTTW/PBS
in Chicago. It was here at PBS that Lissy's instinct and acumen
for promoting children's properties. During her tenure at
WTTW, Ms. Peace introduced the hit series WILD CHICAGO and
WTTW JOURNAL, two of the station's highest rated local programs.
She masterminded a WILD CHICAGO merchandising campaign that
met with unprecedented success.
After 20 years working on sets and managing the public relations
of television programs and feature films, Lissy has stepped
into the role of television producer. She currently has three
television programs under her belt. She currently is producer
of the Television Library Network's "Ask The Author"
program.
